You can use an app on streaming players such as Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku, on Android and iOS phones and tablets, and on some Samsung smart TVs. One good thing about the newer DirecTV Stream service is that you don’t have to rent a box. But that stat is good news for the rest of us. Here’s a sobering statistic for cable TV executives: Major cable and satellite TV providers have lost about 25 million subscribers over the past decade, according to research firm eMarketer.
